About the Show
Jimi Jamm has been waking up Western New York listeners on The CJ Country Morning Show with great country music, local information, and plenty of laughs.
Jimi began his radio career at Genesee Community College in 1987 and was also a recording artist for Buffalo-based Amherst Records in 1990. His first professional radio job came at WNYP in Ithaca, New York, launching a career that would take him across the country to stations in Detroit, Omaha, New Haven, Minnesota, Texas, and Poughkeepsie as both an air personality and Program Director. Along the way, he also spent time working in the music industry in artist promotion.
Today, Jimi not only hosts mornings on CJ Country, he also serves as the station’s Program Director, helping shape the sound of the station and its connection to the community.
Weekday mornings start at 6:00 AM with a fast-moving show that keeps listeners informed and entertained. Steve Weber checks in with the latest news, Meteorologist Kevin Williams delivers the Weather Track Forecast, Brooke Summers brings you The Country Daily Dirt at 8:20, and at 9:00 AM it’s time for the always unpredictable Tradio.
Jimi is also the play-by-play voice of Section V football on CJ Country, teaming with John Carlson in the broadcast booth to bring listeners the action throughout the season.
A proud Western New Yorker, Jimi lives in Batavia with his wife Margot, their dog Cookie Gilchrist, and their cat Patchy. If you’ve listened to the show, you already know he’s a lifelong fan of all things Western New York—especially the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres.
Wake up with The CJ Country Morning Show with Jimi Jamm, weekday mornings starting at 6 on CJ Country.
