Occasionally, you come across an artist you just know is going to break through. For me, Jenna Paulette has been one of those artists from the moment I first heard her music about three or four years ago. Even before she had the team, the push, or the spotlight, she already had the two things you can’t manufacture: authenticity and identity.

Paulette’s story is rooted in the real ranching life of North Texas and Oklahoma, and that lived experience shows up in her writing and in the way she carries herself. She wasn’t trying to “play” country — she was simply telling the truth from her world. Songs like, “El Paso” and “Slow Drawl” were early hints, but “The Girl I Was” was the one that made me think, “Yep, she’s ready.”

So, when the news came that she had officially signed with Leo 33 Records, it felt like watching someone you’ve been cheering for finally get the call-up to the big leagues. It was the right artist, the right label, and the right moment.

Now she’s got a new single, “Steady,” and it’s exactly the kind of record that shows why she belongs in the conversation of country’s rising stars. She’s got the voice, the vision, and the drive — and I’m thrilled to see more listeners discovering what in my gut I have known for a while.
